The Vidalia City Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2021 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes for Montgomery County by 2.36 percent. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 14.852 mills, an increase of .342 mills for the Montgomery County portion. Toombs County's millage rate will not require an increase. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 14.51 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $13.68, and the proposed tax increase for non‐homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $13.68.
