SDM Principal Scott Stephens Presents Check to United Way

The United Way of Toombs, Montgomery, and Wheeler Counties held their Kick-Off Celebration Thursday at Vidalia First Baptist Church of Vidalia with a "Tailgate Celebration." Organizations from around the area presented checks to the United Way that totaled $162,035.

The Vidalia City School Employees, represented by Sally D. Meadows Principal Scott Stephens, presented the organization with a check for $15,000.00 from the employees who have a chance to give throughout the year. "We are so thankful to the Vidalia City Schools and the willingness of their employees to give throughout the year," said United Way Director Patricia Dixon." Right now, they are at $15,000.00, and that total will go up. We so appreciate them helping to "make a difference in the lives of others in our community."

Dixon said the overall goal of the drive is $450,000.00, "so we have a long way to go!"
